5 Foods That Boost Skin Health 500 333 Facercise

5 Foods That Boost Skin Health

facial exercisesAn excellent resolution—in addition to daily facial exercises—is to adopt an anti-aging diet. Research is constantly evolving and providing insights about the anti-inflammatory properties of certain foods. Eating a vibrant, colorful diet packed with healthy fats, water and antioxidants impacts both your skin and your waistline.

Here are some foods that boost the health of both your skin and body.

1. Red Bell Peppers

The colorful veggies are nutritional powerhouses! Red bell peppers are loaded with carotenoids and vitamin C, which boosts collagen production to promote smooth, firm skin. Carotenoids are antioxidants that gives many produce items their vivid color. They yield wide-ranging anti-inflammatory properties and can protect against the sun’s powerful UV rays and free radical damage.

2. Avocados

Avocados fill you up for hours on end while imparting fatty acids that hydrate and smooth skin. They are also rich in other anti-aging nutrients including vitamins A, C, E and K. Vitamin A helps turnover skin cells to reveal a fresh, healthy glow. Avocados are also an excellent source of the B vitamins and potassium, which combats bloat.

3. Nuts

Keep almonds and other nuts at your desk and in your purse for a satiating snack with serious anti-aging benefits. Almonds and walnuts are two of my ideal choices. Almonds are loaded with vitamin E, which has been shown to help repair skin tissue and protect against sun damage. Walnuts are an excellent source of omega-3 fatty acids that fight inflammation, strengthen cell membranes and impart a rosy glow.

4. Spinach

This dark leafy green is the epitome of a superfood. It’s loaded with antioxidants, magnesium, lutein and vitamins A, C, E and K. Vitamin K reduces cellular inflammation and may help eradicate dark under eye circles. Spinach is also a plant-based source of iron and has a high water content, which makes it very hydrating.

5. Papaya

Papayas are loaded with antioxidants that combat damage from environmental stressors and nutrients that boost skin’s elasticity and smooth wrinkles. This juicy fruit is an excellent source of potassium, calcium, potassium, magnesium, phosphorus and vitamins A, C, K and E. Papayas also contain papain, an enzyme with some of the most potent anti-inflammatory properties you can find naturally.

A diet rich in these inflammation-fighting, anti-aging foods coupled with a regular Facercise practice will help you look younger than ever! Click through to learn more about our proprietary system of facial exercises.

Why Facercise Rocks 1024 773 Facercise

Why Facercise Rocks

facial exercisesMen and women across the globe have been doing Facercise, our proprietary system of facial exercises, for decades. This is because our system is considered the best of the best! The natural results Facercise yields are unrivaled and easy to achieve. You can do this system on your own time and in the comfort of your home—or even your car. Read on to learn about the incredible benefits!

Facial Exercises Detox

Facercise stimulates the lymphatic system, which is responsible for eliminating the toxins from our body. When functioning properly, it revs the metabolism while removing from bacteria from our skin. This means less dead skin cells and cleaner pores, which results in fewer breakouts and fresher looking skin.

Natural Looking Results

Unlike the results you get from Botox and other injectables, Facercise gives you a younger, but more natural appearance. There is no bruising, swelling, risk of infection or other side effects associated with facial exercises.

A Youthful Glow

Facercise boosts blood flow and facilitates the delivery of oxygen to your skin cells. This imparts a healthy glow to your skin, while fighting the development of wrinkles.

Facercise Combats Sagging

As we age, the body’s production of collagen and elastin slows down, which makes the skin lose elasticity. Facercise boosts production of both these essential proteins, which firms and lifts the skin. Regular practice fights sagging and makes skin appear firmer and more lifted. You can even resculpt areas of your face, such as a long nose or double chin, aka “the wattle.”

A Brighter Complexion

Facial exercises improve skin tone and brighten your complexion. By boosting oxygen delivery, your skin eliminates dead skin cells faster and can better absorb moisture and skin care products.

Regular Facercise keeps you looking young without the risks of surgery or side effects associated with Botox and other dermal fillers. Click here for more information.

3 Summer Skin Must-Haves 400 600 Facercise

3 Summer Skin Must-Haves

facial exercisesSummer is in full swing—so we hope you’ve been wearing sunscreen and doing your facial exercises every day. There are a few weeks left to take that beach vacay, hit those outdoor workouts or simply while away the days by the pool. Yet if the great outdoors is part of your summer plan, then protection is a must. Your skin is at its most vulnerable this time of year due to the sun’s powerful UV rays and other environmental stressors.

It’s never too late to whip your skincare protocol into shape. Proper skin care prevents sun damage and keeps your skin looking youthful and beautiful. Make sure the following essentials are part of your everyday routine.

1. High Density C Serum

Vitamin C serum is a must during summer months. It combats dangerous free radicals, protects skin from sun damage and strengthens your skin. Our High Density C Serum boosts collagen production to help skin maintain its elasticity and firmness while imparting a healthy glow. It even prevents the formation of sun spots and hyperpigmentation and can reverse damage that’s already been done. Clients also use it to heal sunburned skin.

2. Protective Sunblock SPF 30

Sunblock is mandatory every day, rain or shine. The sun’s UVA and UVB rays are their strongest this time of year, which can cause serious damage. Protect your skin from wrinkles, sun spots, hyperpigmentation and sagging by layering vitamin C and Protective Sunblock SPF 30 every day. Apply it at least 20 minutes before stepping outside and cover every area that will be exposed to the sun. At a minimum, hit your face, hands, front and back of the neck, top of your ears and décolleté. Re-apply several times per day.

3. Nourishing E Oil

Vitamin E oil is another excellent antioxidant that helps neutralize free radicals and replenishes moisture to dry skin. Our Nourishing E Oil offers a gentle way to remove makeup, hydrate summer skin and lock in moisture after a bath or shower.

How to Combat Sun Damage With a Protective Hat 500 325 Facercise

How to Combat Sun Damage With a Protective Hat

facial exercisesSummer can be brutal on your skin, even when you do facial exercises every day. Too much UV exposure wreaks havoc in the form of sunburns, wrinkles, hyperpigmentation and skin cancer. This is why wearing my Protective Sunblock SPF 30 is absolutely mandatory, all year long. It should be applied 20 minutes before going outside and re-applied throughout the day.

You don’t have to stop at sunscreen. You can take protection to the next level by wearing a hat to block out the sun. It adds another level of protection to your face, neck, ears and scalp. This is especially important since these vulnerable areas are where we are most prone to develop skin cancer.

Wearing a hat will shield these delicate areas and help prevent sun damage. Sunscreen is still necessary because dangerous UV rays can bounce off the ground and hit your face, but a hat will help fend these off as well.

Here are three things to look for when buying a sun hat.

1. Go Full Brim

You’ll need a brim with a circumference of at least three inches. This is the only way you’ll really be able to shield the at-risk skin on your face and neck. Unfortunately, a baseball cap or visor won’t cut it because it won’t cover your neck and ears. A full brimmed hat may feel strange at first, but it won’t take long to get used to it. You’ll be a hat lady in no time.

2. Choose Protective Material

If possible, opt for a hat made from SPF or UV-tested material. Don’t opt for mesh or the kind of straw that has holes in it. Choose the most impenetrable material you can find so that it blocks out all UV rays.

3. Be Secure

We’re not talking about confidence here—we just mean to find a hat that stay secure on your head. Find one that fits your head well so that you’re not constantly adjusting it and it doesn’t fly off your head in the middle of an activity. If you do plan on being active or exercising outdoors, you may want to consider a hat with a chin strap.

When you find a hat you like, buy a few of them so you can keep one in the car and always have one on hand. Visit this link to learn more about the anti-aging benefits of facial exercises.

5 Tips for a Healthy Fourth of July 500 284 Facercise

5 Tips for a Healthy Fourth of July

facial exercisesIf you’re celebrating the Fourth of July tomorrow, you may be headed to an outdoor barbecue or party. Temptation may be on the horizon, but that doesn’t mean you should skip out on the fun. If you make good choices you can enjoy the day without doing damage to your skin and body. You can keep on track with your facial exercises, workouts and body sculpting regimens and still enjoy some summer fun.

Here are some simple strategies for navigating events for the Fourth of July and beyond.

1. Don’t Arrive Hungry

Don’t go anywhere on an empty stomach. If you do, you’re bound to overeat. One of the best ways to prevent this is to have a healthy snack half an hour before you head to your event. Choose a protein or fiber-rich snack to fill you up and stave off cravings. Don’t skip meals the day of either. Many people try to “save up” calories so they can binge on hot dogs, chips and other fattening barbecue fare. Avoid this behavior! It’s the direct route to a binge.

2. Go Light

It’s hot outside so why fill up on heavy food? Choose light foods that can be thrown on the grill, such as chicken, salmon or a lean turkey burger. Take it easy on the condiments which are often a source of empty, hidden calories. Eat a salad and snack on the veggie plate. If you opt for a burger, go protein-style. Allow yourself a treat, of course, but don’t go overboard.

3. Join the Activity

If people at the party are playing an outdoor game like football, frisbee, bocce ball or volleyball, join in! It’s an excellent way to rev your metabolism and burn calories, while taking your mind off the buffet. You’ll also bond with friends and loved ones by engaging in a little healthy competition.

4. Hydrate Like it’s Your Job

Wherever you are, we bet it’s going to be hot! Drink extra water to keep your skin and body hydrated. Water also helps fill you up, so have a glass before eating. If you plan to drink alcohol, be sure to have an extra glass in between each libation. Be moderate—alcohol can wreak serious havoc on your skin.

5. Block Out the Sun

Wear lots of sunblock, especially if you’re going to be outside for extended period. Bring a bottle with you and re-apply throughout the day. Wear a wide-brimmed hat and sunglasses to provide extra protection for your face and scalp. If you can, wear SPF clothing to provide an additional barrier against those dangerous UV rays.

4th of July Beauty Tips 500 333 Facercise

4th of July Beauty Tips

hyaluronic acidThe 4th of July is here, which means we’re smack in the middle of summer. Whether you have outdoor BBQs on the horizon, a trip lined up or are staying home with your SO, we know you want to look your best. Even if the attire is casual or you’re spending the day outdoors, you’ll enjoy yourself more when your skin looks its luminous best.

Read on for my roadmap for getting beautified for the 4th of July and all of your summer events.

Get Moving

Start the day off with some physical activity, ideally your regular workout. Do your facial exercises when you wake up and then go for a run, take a walk or hit the gym. This will get your blood flowing and skin glowing. It will also help offset any extra calories you consume at parties or BBQs.

Get Glowing

Once you’re done with your workout, take some to relax and get your glow on. Apply Face Lift to Go and relax for 45 minutes of pure unadulterated “me” time. This luxurious enzymatic mask exfoliates like nothing else—leaving your skin looking taut, firm and absolutely glowing.

Get Dewy

After you slough off the excess with Face Lift to Go, properly moisturize before applying Protective Sunblock SPF 30. A product that contains hyaluronic acid is ideal, as it attracts and retains moisture like crazy. This naturally occurring substance is renowned by top dermatologists as the “the key molecule involved in skin moisture.” Our Ultra Hyaluronic Cream is composed of hyaluronic acid and other ingredients that boost moisture by 300 percent. Click here to learn more about the magic of hyaluronic acid and its benefits.

Hydrate

Hydration is critical, especially during hot summer weather. Start the morning off with a cup of green tea, which is loaded with anti-aging antioxidants, and then drink water all day ling. Have a bottle with you everywhere, and if you have a cocktail or glass of wine, be sure to have a glass of water before and after to minimize damage.

Have a safe and fun holiday!

Get Fresh & Glowing for Summer 500 333 Facercise

Get Fresh & Glowing for Summer

facial exercisesSummer weather is in effect and there’s no better time to flaunt beautiful skin and a healthy glow. Yet many dread this time of year and the damage it can do. The heat dries out your skin, the sun’s UV rays cause burns and redness, and breakouts can emerge in full force. The good news is, if you do facial exercises and practice good habits, your skin will look better than ever.
Follow these steps and soon you’ll be showing off younger looking skin and a gorgeous summer glow.

Exfoliate

Dry dead skin cells translate to clogged pores and the appearance of dull skin. Buff away those cells regularly to avoid breakouts and diffuse light so your skin looks brighter. Use a gentle yet effective mask such as Face Lift to Go every week to target your face. Face Lift to Go is on sale this week for just $65 (normally $95), so if you haven’t tried this luxurious mask, now is the time! Use the Beauty Face Mitt and Bamboo Mitt to detoxify the skin on your face. Click here for step-by-step instructions.

Moisturize

Keep your skin hydrated by incorporating a rich moisturizer into your routine. Combat dryness with products that contain potent hydrator like hyaluronic acid. It’s a naturally occurring substance in the body that keeps joints lubricated and boosts collagen production. Regular use of a topical cream that contains hyaluronic acid maintains moisture and improves skin texture. You can’t go wrong with our Ultra Hyaluronic Cream—it contains ingredients that have been shown to increase skin moisture by 300%. It’s the fountain of youth in a jar and is on sale for just $39.95 this week (Normally $50).

Exercise

An easy way to get your glow on is to work out regularly. It boosts circulation to give you a rosy glow and helps eliminate toxins from the body. Regular exercise also boosts your energy levels and your mood.

Facercise

Just like working out boosts circulation overall, facial exercises promote bloody supply specifically to your face and neck. Regular Facercise practice ensures a healthy, natural glow all year long.

Eat Right

Certain foods reduce inflammation and help hydrate the skin so that it maintains radiance. Eat lots of foods with high water content, such as fruits and green vegetables. Include green vegetables in your diet as they help to improve the immune system and decreases stress level in the body. Strive for antioxidant-rich, colorful produce like berries, kiwi, watermelon, oranges, spinach and kale. Nuts like almonds, walnuts and Brazil nuts are rich in healthy fats and do wonders for your skin. Avoid salty foods, which can dehydrate your skin.

How to Get Your Beauty Sleep 500 337 Facercise

How to Get Your Beauty Sleep

facial exercisesBeauty sleep is critical, but the position we sleep in is even more important. Sleeping in the wrong position can derail the results of your facial exercises and cause those deep creases many call “sleep lines.” I also causes back pain and saggy breasts.  Even if you use the softest pillow you can find, it puts pressure on your face and results in a pattern of lines that shows exactly how you sleep.

If you want to preserve your youthful good looks and overall health, it’s essential to sleep on your back. It prevents those nasty “sleep” lines from forming around your eyes, sides of your face and nasolabial folds.

Sleeping on your back also helps you maintain facial symmetry. As we age, our skeletal structure shrinks and we lose the fat in our faces. Look at a picture of yourself when you were in your 20s wearing large earrings and then another photo of yourself in your 40s with large earrings. You will notice that your face is smaller in the photo taken in your 40s. Sleeping on your back is can help keep your face symmetrical and protect the results you work so hard to attain with facial exercises.

Sleeping on your back is also the best way for your head, neck and spine to maintain a neutral position. This is essential for those who have suffered back injuries and helps prevent future problems.

Last but not least, sleeping on your back helps avoid those chest wrinkles that are so difficult to get rid of and helps you maintain perky breasts. Sleeping on your stomach or side causes those unsightly creases and puts weight on your breast tissue, which contributes to sagginess over time. When you sleep on your back, your breasts are fully supported, which actually helps prevent that dreaded sagginess.

If you’re having trouble falling asleep this way, put a pillow under your knees and hug another to your chest. It is psychologically the same as if you were sleeping in the fetal position on your side. You can also practice by lying in bed for 15 minutes or so, on your back to develop muscle memory in that position. Just like we do our facial exercises to train our muscles, we can train our bodies for healthier sleep.

Fight Aging With Exercise 400 263 Facercise

Fight Aging With Exercise

facial exercisesFacial exercises are a critical tool for fighting the signs of aging—but don’t stop at the face. Research performed at McMaster University in Canada shows that regular physical exercise yields an array of benefits that help us look and feel younger. It bolsters our health, fights off disease and helps firm and smooth skin.

While the studies began with mice, researchers moved on to human participants who experienced younger looking skin. One of the most important variables was that the subjects exercises regularly, proving that consistency is key to attaining noticeable results. This is also true for facial exercises—daily practice is what we recommend to our clients.

Aim to work out a minimum of 30 minutes per day. If you haven’t exercised in a while, start with three days a week and build up to four or five. For optimum results, exercise five to six days a week. You can start out slowly, but always strive to boost the intensity duration of your workouts. While consistency is key, it’s also important to keep challenging your muscles and endurance levels.

Incorporate a mix of cardiovascular, resistance and flexibility training into your routine. Choose exercise forms that you enjoy so that you can stay motivated for the long haul. Below are a few great forms to try.

Walking

Walking is one of the easiest, most enjoyable activities you can do. It’s gentle yet very effective—studies show that it improves heart health, boosts metabolism and promotes healthy digestion.

Strength training builds lean muscle mass, which is essential for good posture. It also improves skin tone and elasticity, which helps combat sagging.

Tai Chi

This beautiful Chinese martial arts blends meditation, deep breathing and gentle movement. It’s an excellent low-impact activity that is safe for all ages and reduces stress. Studies show that Tai Chi also lowers blood pressure, boosts the immune system and improves energy levels.

Dance

Dynamic workouts like dance burns lots of calories while the fun factor keeps you entertained. Whether you have a dance party at home or take a Zumba or ballet class, you’ll reap serious benefits.

Pilates

Pilates is a rehabilitative and strengthening movement that all ages can benefit from. It develops long, lean muscles while boosting flexibility and improving balance. Pilates also allows you to tap into the mind-body connection and decrease stress.
