5 Tips for Staying on Track This Thanksgiving 400 300 Facercise

5 Tips for Staying on Track This Thanksgiving

facial exercisesWhile Thanksgiving is just one day, it can derail your efforts to look and feel your very best if you’re not careful. It’s the start of holiday meals and soirees—and if you start the season off on the wrong foot, you’ll find yourself among the masses who gain weight and look haggard after the New Year. There’s more to staying on track than doing your regimen of facial exercises and No Lipo Lipo—read on for some ways to start the season right and have a beautiful Thanksgiving day.

1. Start your day with a healthy breakfast.

Have a healthy, low carb breakfast with protein and fiber so that you don’t overeat throughout the day. A lot of people try to “save up” calories so they can binge at Thanksgiving dinner. This is a huge mistake—you’re bound to completely overeat if you have dinner on an empty stomach.

2. Do your regimens.

Don’t skip the trifecta—do your regimens of facial exercises, dry brushing and No Lipo Lipo before you do anything else. Get up early if time is limited.

3. Exercise.

Don’t skip your workouts because it’s a holiday. Squeeze it in no matter what, especially considering the greater number of calories you may consume at dinner. If you can’t make it to the gym or an exercise class, go for a run, hike or a long walk.

4. Watch the simple carbs.

There are plenty of great Thanksgiving dishes to indulge in—and not all are packed with simple carbs. Ditch the bread and baked goods, if possible. Load your plate with veggies and lean slices of white meat turkey for best results.

5. Eat slowly.

Take your time at the meal. Chew slowly and put your fork down between bites so that your stomach has more time to let your brain know that it’s getting full. Engage in conversation and enjoy yourself—you may be so full that you don’t need seconds.

The Best Way to Wash Your Face 400 266 Facercise

The Best Way to Wash Your Face

facial exercisesYour daily skin care regimen can be just as important as doing your facial exercises when it comes to fighting the signs of aging. The first step of your protocol should be washing your face. While it seems like an easy task, many people do it incorrectly. This can result in breakouts, an increase in the appearance of wrinkles and other unsightly damage.

The skin on your face is delicate and more sensitive than other areas of your body. The Stratum corneum, which is the outer layer of the dermis, is formed from dead skin cells connected by lipids, which are fatty compounds that help your skin retain moisture. As you can imagine, you don’t want to damage the lipids. Yet you don’t want dead cells to build up too much—this can result in dull, lackluster skin.

You can easily avoid this by washing your face the right way. Start by taking off your makeup with a gentle remover using soft, easy strokes, especially around the delicate eye area. When you’re ready to apply cleaners, make sure to use warm to cool water—hot water can dissolve the lipids and strip your skin of its necessary oils. Once you wet your face, apply your favorite cleanser to your fingertips and massage into your face using gentle, circular motions. Start at the bottom of our jaw and move upwards—think of defying gravity every time you cleanse. When you move downwards, you’re actually pulling the skin down, which promotes sagging. Strive for a least 30 seconds of washing your face so your cleanser has time to work its magic.

If your skin feels irritated or there is visible redness or rashes, you are not being gentle enough. When you are finished, gently pat your skin dry with a soft face towel. Then you are ready to follow the next step of your protocol.
