5 Tips for Staying on Track This Thanksgiving
While Thanksgiving is just one day, it can derail your efforts to look and feel your very best if you’re not careful. It’s the start of holiday meals and soirees—and if you start the season off on the wrong foot, you’ll find yourself among the masses who gain weight and look haggard after the New Year. There’s more to staying on track than doing your regimen of facial exercises and No Lipo Lipo—read on for some ways to start the season right and have a beautiful Thanksgiving day.
1. Start your day with a healthy breakfast.
Have a healthy, low carb breakfast with protein and fiber so that you don’t overeat throughout the day. A lot of people try to “save up” calories so they can binge at Thanksgiving dinner. This is a huge mistake—you’re bound to completely overeat if you have dinner on an empty stomach.
2. Do your regimens.
Don’t skip the trifecta—do your regimens of facial exercises, dry brushing and No Lipo Lipo before you do anything else. Get up early if time is limited.
Don’t skip your workouts because it’s a holiday. Squeeze it in no matter what, especially considering the greater number of calories you may consume at dinner. If you can’t make it to the gym or an exercise class, go for a run, hike or a long walk.
4. Watch the simple carbs.
There are plenty of great Thanksgiving dishes to indulge in—and not all are packed with simple carbs. Ditch the bread and baked goods, if possible. Load your plate with veggies and lean slices of white meat turkey for best results.
5. Eat slowly.
Take your time at the meal. Chew slowly and put your fork down between bites so that your stomach has more time to let your brain know that it’s getting full. Engage in conversation and enjoy yourself—you may be so full that you don’t need seconds.
