5 Things to Avoid If You Want to Look Younger 500 281 Facercise

5 Things to Avoid If You Want to Look Younger

facial exercisesYou don’t have to get Botox and other fillers if you want to maintain fresh, youthful good looks. In fact, a good skin care protocol coupled with daily facial exercises will make you look younger and more natural than dermal fillers. It’s also important to avoid bad habits that break down collagen, slow circulation and cause the formation of wrinkles.

Here are five habits to eliminate immediately if you want to combat the signs of aging and maintain your looks.

1. Smoking

If you want to look older, keep smoking! The repetition of the movements involved with smoking causes deep lines around the lip area and all over the face. It slows the blood supply to our skin cells, depletes vitamin A and causes collagen to break down. The result is wrinkles, fine lines and dull, grey skin.

2. Sunbathing

The sun’s powerful ultraviolet rays cause significant damage in the form of sun spots, hyperpigmentation, deep lines and wrinkles. It also breaks down collagen, which is responsible for the flexibility and firmness of our skin. Stay out of the sun and protect your skin by wearing, hats, protective clothing and sunblock with a high SPF.

3. Squinting

Squinting causes Crow’s feet, undereye bags and those lovely brow furrows nicknamed the “elevens.” Wear sunglasses to protect the area and rock a hat whenever you step into the sun. If you need readers, wear them!

4. Sleeping on Your Stomach

Sleeping on your stomach smashes the skin on your face, neck and decolletage into the pillow and sheets. The pressure causes creases that can become permanent over time. Sleep on your back to prevent this from happening.

5. Excessive Drinking

Too much alcohol dehydrates your skin, causes blood vessels to burst and leads to sleep deprivation. These effects accelerate the signs of aging and diminish overall beauty.

Why We Need Sunblock All Year Long 500 320 Facercise

Why We Need Sunblock All Year Long

sunblockSunblock is not just for summer! Even some of my most devout Facercise clients only think about UV damage during summer months—this is a huge mistake. Just like you need to do facial exercises daily for optimum results, sunblock is necessary every day, rain or shine.

UV Rays are Potent

The sun produces three types of ultraviolet (UV) rays: UVA, UVB and UVC. Few are aware of UVC rays, but they are the most dangerous. While the atmosphere shields most UVC rays, we are not protected from UVA and UVB. Both types wreak serious damage; UVB rays can immediately scorch the top layers of the dermis while UVA rays affect the deeper layers of the skin.

UVA damage causes problems that are difficult to eradicate, including discoloration, sun spots and wrinkles. Both of these types of potent rays can lead to sunburns, wrinkles, hyperpigmentation and even skin cancer.

Outdoor Exposure

If you go outdoors, you’re exposed to the dangerous UV rays. The sun literally never powers down! If you are in snowy weather, sun damage can be even stronger than in the summer—snow and ice can reflect nearly 90 percent of these powerful rays. Clouds are no match for blocking these rays either. You need to apply sunscreen even if you only plan to be outside briefly—a short walk to the car can intensify pre-existing damage within minutes. Apply sunblock a minimum of 20 minutes before you step foot outside.

You’re Never Safe

UVA rays can reach you in your car, even if you have tinted windows! Apply sunscreen for the car ride! Many suffer from uneven skin tone or sun spots on side of their face, neck and arms that is exposed by the driver’s side window. It’s a good idea to wear sunglasses and a hat for added protection.

Bottom line, you need a strong sunblock to protect your fragile skin all year long! Click through for information on our powerful sunblock and anti-aging system of facial exercises.

5 Collagen Boosting Tips 500 334 Facercise

5 Collagen Boosting Tips

facial exercisesIf you want firm, glowing skin, collagen is key! It’s a fibrous protein that works together with elastin to provide structural support for the skin. These proteins are also responsible for firmness and elasticity. Unfortunately, as we age, collagen breaks down and its production slows. This is where facial exercises and a few other tricks can come in handy.

Boost collagen production with the following anti-aging tips:

1. Protect Your Skin

Free radicals and the sun’s dangerous UV rays scavenge and deplete collagen. This shows up as photodamage, such as fine lines, wrinkles, hyperpigmentation and sun spots. It also causes sagginess and loss of elasticity. Prevent these unsightly issues by wearing sunblock every single day, rain or shine. Apply all over your face, hands, arms, neck and décolletage—even the tops of your ears, as they are extremely vulnerable. It’s good to eat foods rich in beta-carotene and lycopene, antioxidants that help protect the skin from the inside out. Tomatoes, squash, yams, watermelon, papaya, beets, grapefruit and bell peppers are all excellent sources.

2. Facercise Daily

Facial exercises boost circulation which helps deliver oxygen to the skin cells. This stimulates collagen production and gives you a rosy glow. A consistent Facercise practice also prevents atrophy and strengthens muscle memory. The result is firmer, smoother skin with more defined contours and a decreased appearance of fine lines and wrinkles.

3. Eat Right

It’s important to consume lean, complete protein that provides all nine of the essential amino acids. Foods that contain high levels of sulphur have also been shown to promote collagen production. Some good options are garlic, legumes and cabbage. Vitamin C is also essential for cellular regeneration and collagen production. Eat lots of citrus, berries and green leafy vegetables to get your vitamin C fill.

4. Apply Vitamin C Topically

A vitamin C serum works wonders for stimulating collagen and brightening skin. Our Vitamin C Complex Serum protects against free radical and sun damage that breaks down collagen.

5. Avoid Smoking

Smoking restricts the blood flow, which leads to smoker’s face. This includes those lines around the lips and dry, leathery texture that makes you look 10 years older. Cut out smoking completely!

6 Beauty & Anti-Aging Resolutions 500 333 Facercise

6 Beauty & Anti-Aging Resolutions

facial exercisesThe New Year is here—and it’s the perfect time to recommit and upgrade your beauty regime. By now you know that facial exercises can turn back the clock, but are you doing them regularly? Instead of focusing on giving things up for New Year’s resolutions, we recommend adding effective practices to your current anti-aging regimen. Read on for some excellent techniques that you should incorporate now to combat the signs of aging. Within a few weeks, you’ll look younger and feel more confident.

1. Exfoliate Regularly

It’s important to remove those dead skin cells that clog your pores and dull your skin. Exfoliating a couple times a week will help you develop a healthy glow, combat breakouts and keep skin from looking dry and aged. Our Face Lift to Go enzymatic mask is an excellent choice for weekly exfoliation and it also tightens up the skin.

2. Wear Gloves for Housekeeping

Wear dishwashing gloves whenever your hands go near the dishes, cleaning supplies or disinfectants. Hands can be a dead giveaway when it comes to age, so protect them from the harsh, drying chemicals found in many cleaning products. For best results, use a bleach-free disinfectant that kills germs but won’t damage skin if you have a spill.

3. Apply Sunscreen Everywhere

We know you’re applying sunscreen every day, rain or shine, but are you wearing it on your body too? At a minimum, apply to your neck, hands and décolletage. For best results, apply to your arms and legs as well.

4. Add Vitamin C to the Mix

Vitamin C is one of the most powerful antioxidants and skin brighteners you can find. Try my Vitamin C Complex Serum which protects against dangerous UV rays, repairs damage and boosts radiance. You may also want to take an Ester-C supplement daily for optimal results.

5. Get Good Sleep

Sleep is when our cells restore and regenerate, so take advantage of this time. Get the right amount you need every night and let your skin care products do their magic.

6. Do Facial Exercises Daily

This should be a no-brainer, but if you haven’t started your facial exercises, the time is now! 5 Incredible Benefits of Facercise 500 333 Facercise

5 Incredible Benefits of Facercise

facercise benefitsWhen it comes to facial exercises, Facercise is the OG! It’s not just the original, it’s the best system available. For nearly four decades, Facercise has helped hundreds of thousands around the world look 10 years younger after only a few weeks of practice. It provides the most natural looking results and bears no negative side effects or risks. All you have to do is designate a little bit of time every day to look your very best and prevent future signs of aging.

Here are five incredible benefits of Facercise:

1. Facercise Improves Facial Contours

Your facial muscles play a key role in the contouring and shaping of your face. Doing Facercise regularly boosts the contours and re-sculpts problem areas like a growing nose, saggy jowls, a “wattle” or double chin.

2. It Lifts and Tones

As we age, the collagen and elastin in our bodies slows production and ultimately breaks down. The result is sagging, droopy skin and muscle atrophy. Facercise firms and tightens the muscles, while boosting collagen and elastin production. The result is a toned, lifted appearance.

3. Facercise Makes Your Skin Glow

By boosting circulation, Facercise helps deliver more oxygen to skin cells and eliminate dead ones. The result is a brighter, more evened out complexion, improved texture and a youthful glow. Your skin will also be better able to absorb moisture and skin care products.

4. Facial Exercises Combat Wrinkles

The increased blood flow and circulation that Facercise creates also helps to smooth and counteracts fine lines and wrinkles. Facial exercises prevents wrinkles by stimulating collagen.

5. It Improves Medical Conditions

Much research shows that facial exercises relax, stretch and strengthen the 57 synergistic muscles of the face and neck. This can relieve and heal the symptoms of Temporomandibular Joint Dysfunction (TMJ), a condition that causes pain in the jaw area and hinders movement. Facercise has also helped heal Bell’s palsy in numerous patients who have written us to share their results.
