6 Fall Skin Care Tips

As we head into colder temperatures, it’s important to adjust your skin care regimen accordingly. Below are a few tips for improving the appearance of your skin this season.
1. Replenish Moisture
When summer humidity disappears, we need to compensate to keep skin hydrated. Swap out lightweight moisturizer for a thicker cream that helps retain moisture and protect your skin’s barrier. This is especially important for your nighttime regimen, so that the skin can rehydrate during its rejuvenation process.
2. Cut Back on Exfoliation
Reduce exfoliation during this time of year. The colder, drier environment will not buffer the effects of exfoliation like summer humidity does. It’s still important to exfoliate—just a little less frequently. An excellent way to slough off the excess without irritation is to do a Face Lift to Go every seven to 10 days.
3. Continue Using Sunscreen
Just because summer’s over, that doesn’t mean it’s a free-for-all in the sun! UV radiation presents all year long, making sunscreen critical, rain or shine. Apply our Protective Sunblock SPF 30 every single day.
4. Add Vitamin C
Vitamin C acts a backup for sunscreen—it fights off UV damage that may not be fully blocked by sunscreen. While sunscreen should always be your first line of defense against UV damage, a topical like our Vitamin C Complex serum will take protection to the next level. It also promotes collagen production, brightens your complexion and reduces the appearance of sun spots and hyperpigmentation. Vitamin C ensures your complexion stays bright, resilient, and protected even as the seasons change.
5. Take Care of Your Hands
Hands need just as much attention, especially with drier air in the environment. Frequent handwashing and exposure to cold air can strip away natural oils, leaving skin rough, cracked, and more prone to irritation. Apply a rich, nourishing hand cream several times a day—especially after washing—and look for formulas with ingredients like shea butter, hyaluronic acid, or vitamin E. For best results, use vitamin C and sunscreen on your hads as well. Wear gloves outdoors and use a gentle exfoliant once a week to help maintain smoothness and protect your hands from premature aging during the fall months.
6. Schedule Monthly Treatments
Commit to monthly skin care treatments in the hands of an expert—all year long!
Follow these tips coupled with a regimen of facial exercises to look and feel your very best.

It’s surprising how many people do facial exercises and use pricey skin care products but don’t wear sunscreen. The sun’s dangerous ultraviolet (UV) rays can cause damage that is often beyond repair. Too much sun exposure leads to premature aging, fine lines, wrinkles, hyperpigmentation and skin cancer.
We’re always surprised when clients who practice Facercise daily ask if they need to wear sunblock. Your skin is your largest organ, so it needs the most protection. If you don’t wear it every single day, believe me, you will regret it! Applying sunblock every day is essential for both anti-aging and protecting your overall health. My Protective Sunblock SPF 30 is one of my best-sellers because it provides grease-free, long-lasting protection.
Summer is in full swing—so we hope you’ve been wearing sunscreen and doing your facial exercises every day. There are a few weeks left to take that beach vacay, hit those outdoor workouts or simply while away the days by the pool. Yet if the great outdoors is part of your summer plan, then protection is a must. Your skin is at its most vulnerable this time of year due to the sun’s powerful UV rays and other environmental stressors.
