5 Ways to Reduce Hyperpigmentation 500 333 Facercise

5 Ways to Reduce Hyperpigmentation

facial exercisesOne of the unsightly effects of sun damage is the hyperpigmentation and sun spots it often leaves behind. The sun’s ultraviolet rays and other environmental stressors like free radicals are fierce scavengers that cause discoloration! Aging can play a role as well. Fortunately, this frustrating condition is not something we have to live with. Just like how facial exercises offer a nonsurgical alternative to preventing and smoothing wrinkles, there are ways to naturally improve discoloration.

Read on for tips on fading hyperpigmentation and sun spots so you feel more comfortable in your skin.

1. Retinol Products

Retinol products are great for reducing the appearance of hyperpigmentation. They exfoliate the skin and remove the discolored cells that cause sun spots and discoloration. It’s essential to find a gentle product that does this without causing redness and irritation. Regular use also boosts collagen production, which helps maintain the skin’s flexibility and elasticity.

2. Vitamin C Serum

Vitamin C is an antioxidant that helps lighten and brighten skin by decreasing the number of sun-damaged skin cells. It also imparts a healthy glow and stimulates collagen production. Our Vitamin C Complex Serum is an excellent choice for brightening your complexion while fading hyperpigmentation. For optimum results, apply to your face and all areas of your body that are exposed to the sun.

3. Eat an Antioxidant-Rich Diet

Another way to fight off hyperpigmentation is to eat a diet packed with antioxidants like vitamin C, betacarotene and lycopene. These goods combat damage from the sun and free radicals, while reducing inflammation. Many clients also take an Ester-C supplement as well.

4. Brightening Cream

Consistent use of products like our Brightening Cream helps fade hyperpigmentation. If you have sensitive skin, avoid aggressive products with hydroquinone. They can cause irritation and even darken spots that you’re trying to lighten.

5. Avoid Overheating

Avoid getting overheated. When skin temperature rises this stimulates melanin, which leads to the formulation of darkened skin cells. If you’re outside in summer heat or feel hot after working out, apply a cool compress to your skin to bring its temperature down.

You know what they say about an ounce of prevention! Visit this link to learn how to prevent the formation of sun spots and hyperpigmentation. Click here to learn ways to prevent age spots from occurring.

5 Things to Avoid If You Want to Look Younger 500 281 Facercise

5 Things to Avoid If You Want to Look Younger

facial exercisesYou don’t have to get Botox and other fillers if you want to maintain fresh, youthful good looks. In fact, a good skin care protocol coupled with daily facial exercises will make you look younger and more natural than dermal fillers. It’s also important to avoid bad habits that break down collagen, slow circulation and cause the formation of wrinkles.

Here are five habits to eliminate immediately if you want to combat the signs of aging and maintain your looks.

1. Smoking

If you want to look older, keep smoking! The repetition of the movements involved with smoking causes deep lines around the lip area and all over the face. It slows the blood supply to our skin cells, depletes vitamin A and causes collagen to break down. The result is wrinkles, fine lines and dull, grey skin.

2. Sunbathing

The sun’s powerful ultraviolet rays cause significant damage in the form of sun spots, hyperpigmentation, deep lines and wrinkles. It also breaks down collagen, which is responsible for the flexibility and firmness of our skin. Stay out of the sun and protect your skin by wearing, hats, protective clothing and sunblock with a high SPF.

3. Squinting

Squinting causes Crow’s feet, undereye bags and those lovely brow furrows nicknamed the “elevens.” Wear sunglasses to protect the area and rock a hat whenever you step into the sun. If you need readers, wear them!

4. Sleeping on Your Stomach

Sleeping on your stomach smashes the skin on your face, neck and decolletage into the pillow and sheets. The pressure causes creases that can become permanent over time. Sleep on your back to prevent this from happening.

5. Excessive Drinking

Too much alcohol dehydrates your skin, causes blood vessels to burst and leads to sleep deprivation. These effects accelerate the signs of aging and diminish overall beauty.

sunblock
Why We Need Sunblock All Year Long 500 320 Facercise

Why We Need Sunblock All Year Long

sunblockSunblock is not just for summer! Even some of my most devout Facercise clients only think about UV damage during summer months—this is a huge mistake. Just like you need to do facial exercises daily for optimum results, sunblock is necessary every day, rain or shine.

UV Rays are Potent

The sun produces three types of ultraviolet (UV) rays: UVA, UVB and UVC. Few are aware of UVC rays, but they are the most dangerous. While the atmosphere shields most UVC rays, we are not protected from UVA and UVB. Both types wreak serious damage; UVB rays can immediately scorch the top layers of the dermis while UVA rays affect the deeper layers of the skin.

UVA damage causes problems that are difficult to eradicate, including discoloration, sun spots and wrinkles. Both of these types of potent rays can lead to sunburns, wrinkles, hyperpigmentation and even skin cancer.

Outdoor Exposure

If you go outdoors, you’re exposed to the dangerous UV rays. The sun literally never powers down! If you are in snowy weather, sun damage can be even stronger than in the summer—snow and ice can reflect nearly 90 percent of these powerful rays. Clouds are no match for blocking these rays either. You need to apply sunscreen even if you only plan to be outside briefly—a short walk to the car can intensify pre-existing damage within minutes. Apply sunblock a minimum of 20 minutes before you step foot outside.

You’re Never Safe

UVA rays can reach you in your car, even if you have tinted windows! Apply sunscreen for the car ride! Many suffer from uneven skin tone or sun spots on side of their face, neck and arms that is exposed by the driver’s side window. It’s a good idea to wear sunglasses and a hat for added protection.

Bottom line, you need a strong sunblock to protect your fragile skin all year long! Click through for information on our powerful sunblock and anti-aging system of facial exercises.

5 Collagen Boosting Tips 500 334 Facercise

5 Collagen Boosting Tips

facial exercisesIf you want firm, glowing skin, collagen is key! It’s a fibrous protein that works together with elastin to provide structural support for the skin. These proteins are also responsible for firmness and elasticity. Unfortunately, as we age, collagen breaks down and its production slows. This is where facial exercises and a few other tricks can come in handy.

Boost collagen production with the following anti-aging tips:

1. Protect Your Skin

Free radicals and the sun’s dangerous UV rays scavenge and deplete collagen. This shows up as photodamage, such as fine lines, wrinkles, hyperpigmentation and sun spots. It also causes sagginess and loss of elasticity. Prevent these unsightly issues by wearing sunblock every single day, rain or shine. Apply all over your face, hands, arms, neck and décolletage—even the tops of your ears, as they are extremely vulnerable. It’s good to eat foods rich in beta-carotene and lycopene, antioxidants that help protect the skin from the inside out. Tomatoes, squash, yams, watermelon, papaya, beets, grapefruit and bell peppers are all excellent sources.

2. Facercise Daily

Facial exercises boost circulation which helps deliver oxygen to the skin cells. This stimulates collagen production and gives you a rosy glow. A consistent Facercise practice also prevents atrophy and strengthens muscle memory. The result is firmer, smoother skin with more defined contours and a decreased appearance of fine lines and wrinkles.

3. Eat Right

It’s important to consume lean, complete protein that provides all nine of the essential amino acids. Foods that contain high levels of sulphur have also been shown to promote collagen production. Some good options are garlic, legumes and cabbage. Vitamin C is also essential for cellular regeneration and collagen production. Eat lots of citrus, berries and green leafy vegetables to get your vitamin C fill.

4. Apply Vitamin C Topically

A vitamin C serum works wonders for stimulating collagen and brightening skin. Our Vitamin C Complex Serum protects against free radical and sun damage that breaks down collagen.

5. Avoid Smoking

Smoking restricts the blood flow, which leads to smoker’s face. This includes those lines around the lips and dry, leathery texture that makes you look 10 years older. Cut out smoking completely!

6 Beauty & Anti-Aging Resolutions 500 333 Facercise

6 Beauty & Anti-Aging Resolutions

facial exercisesThe New Year is here—and it’s the perfect time to recommit and upgrade your beauty regime. By now you know that facial exercises can turn back the clock, but are you doing them regularly? Instead of focusing on giving things up for New Year’s resolutions, we recommend adding effective practices to your current anti-aging regimen. Read on for some excellent techniques that you should incorporate now to combat the signs of aging. Within a few weeks, you’ll look younger and feel more confident.

1. Exfoliate Regularly

It’s important to remove those dead skin cells that clog your pores and dull your skin. Exfoliating a couple times a week will help you develop a healthy glow, combat breakouts and keep skin from looking dry and aged. Our Face Lift to Go enzymatic mask is an excellent choice for weekly exfoliation and it also tightens up the skin.

2. Wear Gloves for Housekeeping

Wear dishwashing gloves whenever your hands go near the dishes, cleaning supplies or disinfectants. Hands can be a dead giveaway when it comes to age, so protect them from the harsh, drying chemicals found in many cleaning products. For best results, use a bleach-free disinfectant that kills germs but won’t damage skin if you have a spill.

3. Apply Sunscreen Everywhere

We know you’re applying sunscreen every day, rain or shine, but are you wearing it on your body too? At a minimum, apply to your neck, hands and décolletage. For best results, apply to your arms and legs as well.

4. Add Vitamin C to the Mix

Vitamin C is one of the most powerful antioxidants and skin brighteners you can find. Try my Vitamin C Complex Serum which protects against dangerous UV rays, repairs damage and boosts radiance. You may also want to take an Ester-C supplement daily for optimal results.

5. Get Good Sleep

Sleep is when our cells restore and regenerate, so take advantage of this time. Get the right amount you need every night and let your skin care products do their magic.

6. Do Facial Exercises Daily

This should be a no-brainer, but if you haven’t started your facial exercises, the time is now! Stream the Ultimate Facercise program and get the Ultimate Facercise book for step-by-step instructions for following this life-changing protocol. There is even an 8-minute super set included in the system for when you are short on time.

5 Incredible Benefits of Facercise 500 333 Facercise

5 Incredible Benefits of Facercise

facercise benefitsWhen it comes to facial exercises, Facercise is the OG! It’s not just the original, it’s the best system available. For nearly four decades, Facercise has helped hundreds of thousands around the world look 10 years younger after only a few weeks of practice. It provides the most natural looking results and bears no negative side effects or risks. All you have to do is designate a little bit of time every day to look your very best and prevent future signs of aging.

Here are five incredible benefits of Facercise:

1. Facercise Improves Facial Contours

Your facial muscles play a key role in the contouring and shaping of your face. Doing Facercise regularly boosts the contours and re-sculpts problem areas like a growing nose, saggy jowls, a “wattle” or double chin.

2. It Lifts and Tones

As we age, the collagen and elastin in our bodies slows production and ultimately breaks down. The result is sagging, droopy skin and muscle atrophy. Facercise firms and tightens the muscles, while boosting collagen and elastin production. The result is a toned, lifted appearance.

3. Facercise Makes Your Skin Glow

By boosting circulation, Facercise helps deliver more oxygen to skin cells and eliminate dead ones. The result is a brighter, more evened out complexion, improved texture and a youthful glow. Your skin will also be better able to absorb moisture and skin care products.

4. Facial Exercises Combat Wrinkles

The increased blood flow and circulation that Facercise creates also helps to smooth and counteracts fine lines and wrinkles. Facial exercises prevents wrinkles by stimulating collagen.

5. It Improves Medical Conditions

Much research shows that facial exercises relax, stretch and strengthen the 57 synergistic muscles of the face and neck. This can relieve and heal the symptoms of Temporomandibular Joint Dysfunction (TMJ), a condition that causes pain in the jaw area and hinders movement. Facercise has also helped heal Bell’s palsy in numerous patients who have written us to share their results.

5 Holiday Body Sculpting & Wellness Tips 500 333 Facercise

5 Holiday Body Sculpting & Wellness Tips

body sculptingWhile the holidays are one of the best times of the year, they can lead to weight gain. With all the festivities on the horizon, chances are you’ll face a lot of temptation. The good news is, if you follow our wellness and body sculpting tips below, you’ll fend off weight gain and still be able to indulge a little.

1. Step Up Your Regimen

Don’t wait for the New Year—now is the time to step up your diet, exercise and body sculpting regimens. Allow yourself to indulge in moderation at special events, but eat a clean diet the rest of the time. Strictly follow our dry brushing and No Lipo Lipo body sculpting programs to help you look and feel your best. Both boost your lymphatic system, which flushes the toxins from your body.

2. Start Your Day Right

Eat a healthy, protein-rich breakfast in the morning to fill you up and fuel your day. Then go for a run, hit the gym or head to your favorite exercise class. Studies show morning workouts help you stay on track the rest of the day. Try to exercise as many days as possible, even if you have to get up early. It will help you burn off some of the excess calories you may consume and reduce holiday stress.

3. Don’t Go Anywhere Hungry

Don’t skip meals so that you can overeat at that party or holiday meal you’re headed to. When you go somewhere on an empty stomach, you will eat many more calories than if you eat normally throughout the day. Eat small but healthy meals and have a protein or fiber-packed snack before you go anywhere.

4. Use Small Plates

An excellent way to control your portions is to use smaller plates. Once you hit an event or holiday meal, don’t grab a large entrée plate and fill it up. Instead, take a salad or appetizer plate and eat slowly. Give your stomach time to signal your brain that you’re not hungry anymore. Chances are you won’t need to go back for seconds.

5. Be Selective

Depriving yourself can backfire, so indulge in a few of your holiday favorites—but only the items you really enjoy. If fruitcake isn’t one of your favorites, don’t have a piece of just because it’s there. Opt for a few tastes of your favorite dishes in moderation and call it a day.

5 Tips For a Holiday Glow 500 334 Facercise

5 Tips For a Holiday Glow

facial exercisesIf you’re practicing your facial exercises daily, your skin is already glowing! But there is no such thing as too much glow, which is why I’m sharing some tips to maximize your beautiful self. The tips below will help you look gorgeous for all your holiday events and beyond.

1. Beauty Sleep

Adequate sleep is a must during the holidays! When you skimp on sleep, your skin gets dull and dark circles form. Your skin rejuvenates and repairs itself while you rest, which is why so many popular anti-aging products are designed for nighttime use. Figure out how much sleep you need on a nightly basis, make a schedule and stick to it.

2. Facial Exercises

Facercise firms and tightens your skin while imparting a healthy, youthful glow. Do facial exercises twice a day to prevent the signs of aging and improve your skin’s health. If time is an issue, the Ultimate Facercise DVD includes an eight-minute superset that is easy to squeeze in.

3. Exercise

This time of year can be hectic, which makes it tempting to ditch your exercise regimen for the season. Don’t do it! Regular workouts throughout the holidays make a big difference in your sanity and appearance. When you prioritize your workouts during the holidays, you’ll reduce stress and be less apt to gain weight. Exercise stimulates blood circulation, which contributes to your glow, and boosts endorphins so you’re happier.

4. Get Masking

Masks are an excellent way to boost your skin’s radiance. Our Face Lift to Go is an enzymatic treatment that lifts, firms and imparts an unrivaled glow. Use it once a week or every 10 days for vibrant, beautiful skin.

5. Hydrate Properly

Drink plenty of water and avoid caffeine to prevent dehydration and dull skin. If you plan to consume alcohol at holiday events, have a glass of water in between each drink and practice moderation.

dry brushing
5 Reasons to Start Dry Brushing 500 333 Facercise

5 Reasons to Start Dry Brushing

body sculptingWith the New Year around the corner, there is no better time to kick start your body sculpting routine. One of the best ways to achieve a more toned, smooth appearance is with a daily dry brushing regimen. It’s the perfect complement to exercise and the No Lipo Lipo program. It’s safe, natural and effective—so forget the idea of risky surgical procedures like liposuction.

This body sculpting practice takes only a few minutes a day but the results are incredible. Read on to learn about some of the awesome benefits!

1. A Rosy, Youthful Glow

Dry brushing exfoliates so that you shed dead skin cells like crazy. It also improves circulation and the flow of oxygen-rich blood to your skin cells. This imparts radiance to the skin, a brighter complexion and a rosy, youthful glow. You can also dry brush your face! It’s a wonderful adjunct to the Facercise program of revolutionary facial exercises. If used regularly, dry brushing exfoliates, tones, tightens and actually lifts the skin of the face and neck. The exfoliation process initiates strong blood supply to the skin, sheds dead skin cells and allows the skin to breathe and function better. Shedding old dead skin cells effectively accelerates the turnover process, making way for new fresh cells. This exfoliation unclogs the pores and reduces the appearance of fine lines and wrinkles. Your skin will actually begin to glow! Exfoliating the skin also allows the skin to better absorb your skincare products.

2. Detox

Dry brushing boosts the lymphatic system, which is responsible for eliminating toxins from your body. This helps you eliminate waste faster and is what contributes to the body sculpting and weight loss effects of this technique. When toxins build up, we gain weight and can develop illnesses.

3. Smoother Skin

The level of exfoliation achieved with dry brushing diminished the dead skin cells that makes skin appear dull and feel rough. It unclogs pores and expedites cell turnover so that your skin is softer and smoother. Your skin will also be less prone to breakouts.

4. Diminished Cellulite

The stimulation of both circulation and the lymphatic system leads to firmer, smoother skin. This helps diminish the appearance of cottage-cheese like bumps under the skin aka cellulite.

5. Better Health

Dry brushing has been shown to release endorphins, which promotes a better mood. It also stimulates digestion and healthy kidney function. A regular routine will help you be a better, healthier version of yourself!
